1- In how many phases can elections be held?
It is believed that this time Lok Sabha elections can be held in 7-8 phases. In 2019, the Election Commission conducted elections in 7 phases. Whereas in 2014, elections were held in 9 phases between 7 April 2014 and 12 May 2014. Whereas the results came on 16 May.
2- What is model code of conduct?
The Election Commission enforces the Model Code of Conduct under the constitutional right to conduct free and fair elections. Under this, some criteria are set for political parties and candidates. The purpose of the code of conduct is to create equal opportunities for all.
3- What will change after the implementation of the code of conduct?
After the implementation of the Code of Conduct, there will be a ban on announcement of government schemes or laying of foundation stones.
– After the announcement of Lok Sabha election dates, no one except government officials can lay the foundation stone or start any kind of projects or schemes.
– During the code of conduct, there will be a ban on transfer and posting of all officers/employees directly or indirectly associated with the electoral process. Transfer posting of officers can happen only with the permission of the Election Commission.
– Advertisements of party’s achievements cannot be given at government expense.
4- When were the dates announced in 2019?
The Election Commission had last announced the dates of Lok Sabha elections on March 10. This time the election dates are being announced on 16th March i.e. 6 days late as compared to last year.
5- In how many phases were elections held last time?
In 2019, voting was held across the country in 7 phases from 11 April to 19 May. Whereas in 2014, voting was held in 9 phases between 7 April 2014 and 12 May 2014.

First stage- In the first phase on April 11, voting was held on 91 seats in 20 states. third step- Voting was held on 115 seats in 14 states on April 23. On this day, Assam (4), Bihar (5), Chhattisgarh (7), Gujarat (26), Goa (2), Jammu and Kashmir (1)*, Karnataka (14), Kerala (20), Maharashtra (14), Voting was held in Odisha (6), Uttar Pradesh (10), West Bengal (5), Dadra and Nagar Haveli (1), Daman and Diu (1).
Fourth step- Voting was held on 71 seats in 9 states on 29 April. On this day, Bihar (5), Jammu and Kashmir (1)*, Jharkhand (3), Madhya Pradesh (6), Maharashtra (17), Odisha (6), Rajasthan (13), Uttar Pradesh (13), West Bengal ( 8)Votes were cast in.

7- How many voters were there in 2019?
There were 90 crore voters in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. However, 67.11 percent of these voters had voted. Of these, 46.8 crore were male and 43.2 crore were female voters. There was an increase of 8.4 crore voters in 2019 compared to 2014. Of these, 1.5 crore voters were in the age group of 18 to 19 years. There were 81 crore voters in 2014.
8- What were the results in 2019?
2019 Lok Sabha Elections NDA won 351 seats, while UPA won 90 seats. BJP had won 303 seats in this election alone. Whereas Congress had won 52 seats. Whereas TMC had won 22 seats. In the last elections, Shiv Sena was included in NDA, when the party had won 18 seats. Nitish’s JDU had won 16 seats. Tamil Nadu’s ruling party DMK had won 23 seats.
